Silas Emmery (1981) primarily works within the field of film, photography, research and historical objects.
His main interest is the writing of history, and especially it's lost and forgotten chapters. By looking at these “historical black holes” Emmery both underlines our present, and shows us a world that either could have been, or one that is long gone. Through his work he raises the question of who gets to write our history, and where is the boundary between personal and our collective memory.
His work has a sublet and observer-like character, that invites the viewer to actively engage with it's content.
Lives and works in Copenhagen.
